custom painted filler panel?

Ok so im at work today and i see a GTO roll buy and had some sort of wierd appiffany. I have one of those chrome viynl overlays for on the rear taillight filler panel of the bird and the trans am logo but its been peeling off and looks like shit like it did before i put it on.... so it hit me... I think im going to take the panel off, sand it down, base coat it black, airbrush in the pheonix and some checkered flags, clear it, then overlay the small pontiac emblem of the gto rear on top of it all... let me know what you guys think or know of anyone whos ever custom painted a filler panel before (pics would rock). I got some left over paint from my buddys helment i just did so ill probably start tommro... ill post pics of my progress

I think that's a great idea, please post pics of creation. If I had ANY artistic talent whatsoever, that's exactly what I would do.

A talented artist could really make some bucks doing that, I would like to have two pheonix's on fire, fighting in flight.
