Do the mods here read peoples PMs?

No offence to any mods and I don't mean to be rude!

I was just wondering, seeing all the warning levels, alerts, kicking people out of threads, etc. I thought perhaps with this extended level of oversight into the activities of the board, it may be tempting to peek at those private mails too! So I was inquiring ahead of time, as I didn't want anyone to read the steamy PMs going back and forth between me and crazy4jason28

If youre referring to do we read other peoples PM, its not possible, hence the term "private".

17 is the legal age of consent here

Not true at all. It is very easy to do a sql dump and read them. I just hope that it is not done because private is private.

When I say easy, well it is very time consuming. You have to pull the whole database off the server then run a dump off of it. Not like a 5 minute process and I assume this is not done but it can be. I have had a vbb board in the past and for legal reasons I was forced to by the law at one point so I know you can do it.

They do it on ls2 all the time. Of course the admins deny it yet 2 mods i know personally over there say it happens all the time and thats why they either email private convos, or use aim.

That is some serious bs for them to do it. I totally understand doing it for a legal reason or maybe somebody threatened someone and you need proof but privacy is fricken privacy.

It is drevyl (zeke) who does it. He told me it is his site and he has the right to read any information on the site. When he was called out by some members he made the thread invisible, and then denied the claims.

Sure, it is his site and he can do what he wants but we all know what is morally right and what isn't. The only time he should ever need to database dump to read them is if he needs to see something for a particular circumstance, not because he is nosy.

Well I speak for myself. I cant even log in half the damn time and on top of that I could give a shit less. So I dont read my own PM's much less spend a second trying to figure out how to read yours. I gotta life......dont really care man....I dont know how nor would I read your or anybody elses PM's if I did know how.

it is possible for the admin to read people's PM's. i dont think big ed would ever EVER DO IT b/c he's not a psycho control freak like that. I know it's possible b/c my PM's were invaded by a site administrator on a local f-body board [nkyfba.com] and they use the same forum as ls1.com does. [vBulletin].
