    Arrow SLP Airlid Install Problem

Has anyone had problems seperating the Mass Air Flow Housing from the stock lid when trying to install an aftermarket lid? I just bought a SLP Lid and am trying to get it on but not having much luck getting the original off of the MAF Housing. Is there a trick to getting these apart? Thanks in advance guys

I had to use a heat gun to warm everything up on the plastic.

    Thumbs up

I ended up just cutting the piece off of the MAF housing with a knife, then prying it off. I know it's not the way to do it, but I tried the heat gun and everything else. I don't think I'll ever have need for the old piece, and if so they have them on ebay all the time. Hope yours comes off easier than mine did.

To get the old lid off of the MAF, I used a regular old screw driver and pried a little around the edges. Over time, the heat-soak from the MAF tends to bond it to the lid a little. To get it into the new lid, spray a little WD40 on your finger and apply a LIGHT coat of oil around the outside edge of the MAF (where it goes into the lid). Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
