im sooo disgusted with the new grand prix!!!!!! has anybody seen this yet. it looks just like every other pontiac in the 21st century this is absolutly no imagination. its on the cover of the new Motor Trend ! GM is takeing the holden australian base car changing the grill and selling it here to be the reincarnated grand prix f-bomb that! make a car that looks as good as it runs, how many cars can pontiac sell that look exactly alike? they all have the same rims same goofy twin snork nose and no bold styling. they are starting to be the dodge of the 60,70,80's because they didnt change their look for damn near 30 years!

BOOORRRIIINNGGG!!!!!!!! i am not out to offend gto owners i like that car. i think there should be a retro kit for these cars im going to render some and post em up.

i have always been a GM guy but you summed it up with boring, thats what i think now when i think of any of their cars except for the vette. even the GTO - dont get me wrong it hauls ass and they meant well but its real plain jane cavalier/grand am styling turns me away as a buyer instantly. havent seen the new grand prix but im sure it follows suit with the rest of their lineup

Youknow...we ( me and the boys) have been considering taking the front end off a 65-66 GTO and putting it on the 04. We have measured and constipated it....it will work and look well...sorta stupid honestly....

sarge i think the gto should look like a gto not a grocery getter next they are going to make the pontiac catalina station wagon retro fit with a grand am front end im sure it will sell millions.

what are you even rambling about? It's not like they're going to change the entire car..just give it some new badges/fascia etc...

the holden cars look like a cross of the saturn redline slapped with a BMW.
The 07 grandprix look like every other pontiac grand am and wannabies slapped with an 03 mustang.

Pontiac designer DO NOT KNOW HOW TO THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX... yeah the interiors are fairly good, minus the cheap looking plastic but the exterior of the cars is and always has been gay.

Why? The GTO always looked like every other car on the market ... other than price, performance and marketing, there was nothing particularly distinctive about the original GTO.

Hell ... until the Mustang came along the only distinctive cars on US roads were the Corvette, Corvair and Volkswagon ... The Thunderbird for a bit, but then Ford morphed it to blend in with everything else.

It's only looking back through the lens of nostalgia that makes the "looks" of a GTO seem like something special.

No shit. When I had my 65 GTO...folks would shrug and say it was just a beefed up Tempest.....now days you'd think it was the most original thing ever built.....people have short memories and often times they confuse facts with perception or myth.

I don't like the retro styling so I'm glad that they didn't go that route. I do, however, agree that the Grand Prix could be a little more unique.

Quite frankly, this makes sense to me. Also sounds like it'll be respectable too. Not saying the 04-06 GTOs weren't. I just never warmed up to'em.

I think the styling for the GTO's was pathetic. They really needed.... at the least...a little 66-65 headlight ( over/under) action going....ram air or funtional hood scoops....just little things to get folks to recognize it.....One of the first things I did was have a guy build me a hood...one that routed the air over to the CAI....since then I have removed every GTO or Pontiac emblem on the car...now she is just black and most folks dont have a clue what it is....
