    Hypertech Shifting Question

I just ordered the PPG3 and before it gets here....i was just wondering where you can shift higher or lower in an A4 (RPM wise)....would i get better acceleration moving the shift point up the rpm range or down? or just leave it stock? i know i want to firm up the shifts.....im sure someone here has played with it so thought id ask before i had to spend all day and a lotta gas figuring out myself.

    Thanx
When you've been to the other side....it's nice to be home. Long live V8s.

what does it mean shifting at 6200 instead of 5900?
I know there's the rev limiter, what should that be at? 6200?
    also, the 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 shift selections?
what do I choose? 1-2 is + or - 6mph, the 2-3 is + or - 12mph, the 3-4 is + or - 12mph.. what do those mean and what is the optimal config to get the
    best 0-60 and 1/4 time.
    Thanks!

set all of them to +6 mph. the HPP3 goes by mph instead of rpm.

    I had 1-2 @ -6, 2-3 @ -3, 3-4 @ +5 and it worked pretty well,,
I will try all @ +6. have you tried that config @ the track?
I have to hit the track in a few weeks to find optimal points.
    Thanks!

never used HPP3. i use the vinci/crane tuner. it brings the shift points up 300 rpms only. picked up .2 in just that on the wife's car.

I got the same hypertech tuner.

From what was said i am assuming that I should set the rev limit at 6300 and all the shifts @ +6???? Is this a ggod place to start

Set your rev limiter to 6200, shift firmness to 100%, 1-2 shift +1.
