what would you run over; an animal, person or child??

this is an odd question / debate that I have had with many friends broken into a few parts

Part A
You are in your car driving down the road. There are 3 things in the road and you have no choice, you have to run over one of them..

Which would you hit:

an animal (like a dog)
an adult
an infant child

My answer is the adult, the animal does not know better to be in the road or not, and either does the infant. I could hit the adult because their dumbass should not be in the road. However hitting the adult could equal lawsuit depending on the state laws this happens in.



Part B
Now lets change the equation

You are in your car driving down the road. There are 2 things in the road and you have no choice, you have to run over one of them..

Which would you hit:

an animal (like a dog)
an adult

Again I choose the adult, they know not to be in the road whereas the animal does not.



Part C
Now lets change the equation again

You are in your car driving down the road. There are 2 things in the road and you have no choice, you have to run over one of them..

Which would you hit:

an animal (like dog)
an infant child

This one I have no answer on. I would have to be in the situation to decide (hopefully I never will be). Both should not be in the road.

the dog every time...i don't care for dogs and if a dog runs out in front of the car it deserves to get hit. the adult will no doubt not die and will sue me and will win and i will end up in jail and with heavy fines for inattentive driving, and attempted vehicular manslaughter.

Reason for not hitting an adult... more likely they will live.. and sue your ass - Hell thats probably why they're standing in the road in the first place.
