PS3 question

I want to upgrade to BluRay and I can get pretty good deals on PS2's... but I have a question.

I have a HD projector which I love (110" screen

) which has HDMI, Composit, Component, VGA and S-Video inputs, and naturally, no audio. So I have my cable hooked up optically and my DVD player comps. to a reciever.

Now... how would I get sound from a PS3 if I bought one? I've never used HDMI before... will the PS3 have a seperate audio out that I can connect to the reciever or will I have to figure out a way to split it so I have 1 for each video/audio?

you can use the digital optical out but make sure its not using PCM other wise you'll only be out putting 2.1 stereo instead of 5.1 DD/DTS... pretty much nothing has 6.1/7.1 uncompressed sound tracks so not outputting the sound via HDMI is no big deal, so in short use HDMI for video and optical for audio and make sure its not out putting PCM via the optical port

You can use a digital optical cable then switch the PS3 to output to optical. I had no sound to my Receiver at first when I hooked mine up because it was selected to output audio through HDMI only.

Actually I decided to just replace my dvd player for an upconverter one, its way cheaper at the momment and should hold me over for a few months while this bluray/hddvd thing irons out.
