Upper rubber shock mount problems
Went to replace springs and shocks today..drivers side, no problems. passenger side, upper rubber where seats inside spring and mates with upper control arm, metal internal sleeve seperated from mount (where shock runs through). This caused the entire assembly, before replacing knuckle and brakes to sag 2-3" and I can see the nut for the shock through the spring.
Question 1. Is this OK to drive to dealer to pick up new part, and #2 is this part the upper strut mount? Would it be best to replace both, and while I am there, any other wearable parts you would recommend replacing?
Before I replaced with new shocks, I noticed a thunk or a clunk from the front right upon braking...What are the chances that thios was why I was hearing/feeling this?
And is this a dealer part or would NAPA have it?
Thanks!

Of course you need to call Napa for this one-and the dealer can tell you the name , especially if you have a fax. Braking puts load on the A-arms, not sure about the upper strut mount. Of course you need to replace this anyway so you will figure it out eventually. You've been driving on it this way already-so why not? I'm wondering what happened to it though, having not seen one of these fail yet.
