    !!!sex!!!

OK, now that I have your attention. I need your help. I have a 98 Trans am and have decided to get an MTI Lid, and Magnaflow catback exhaust. I want to add gears and a convertor next and hopefully that will be it. I could use some help with some questions seeing how I haven't raced this yet.

    1. What MPH should I expect with a stock A4 car with a 2.73 gear (I'm guessing 103ish??)
    2. More importantly, what rpm should I expect to go through the traps at? (really need a number here)
    3. What is the stock weight of these cars? (does 3450lbs sound close??)

In case your wondering why those specific questions, I am trying to figure the best mechanical advantage on a stock car for a given horsepower. I should be able to figure out Horespower and approximate convertor/transmission efficiency from those questions based on my current gears. I will then pick out the best gear ratio and stall convertor. Thanks for yor help!

my car is the 2000 a4 camaro with 2.73; only mod is slp cai, at gateway i ran 13.15 @107.88, just as before i cross the finish lint my car shifts into 3rd, i will have to recheck but i think it is about 4,000rmp, don't quote me there, i will get bake and let you know for shur. i was wanting to go with 3.73 with stock converter. do what you want but i also talked to a guy at gateway who had a converter on his 02, he was running 12.9 then when he installed the 3500 rpm conv. he was running 12.66(best)
also he had to launch in second due to lose of traction but he did have stock wheels and stock rear end, i think he was having some rear diff noise after that night , so build your rear end stout im sure you know this, some company makes a 12 bolt in any gear, which i may go with

I will go with either the 3.73 or 4.11. Thanks for your input!

    3.73 for an auto.

Get a stall first, then gears.
