    Stock wheels with wider tires?

Got a 98 Z and wanting to put 305s or 315s on it. Can't find any tires in the sizes I'm looking for ( 315/40 or 305/40 ). I checked tirerack and discounttires and only found some 305/50/16 with ugly white letters...not it.

Anyone know of any tires these size that I can google?

*edit* Damnit, now that I think about it, would tires that wide fit the stock rims?

Another question. Can I go with DRs on a stock rear putting out about 390 rwhp? Or would I be in danger of breaking the rear?

And also, can DRs be driven in rain or on a regular daily basis in the summer/spring months?

stock wheels shouldn't take wider than 275/40-17 tires.
315s will be 315/35-17 with the exact same diameter as the stock sizes... but recommend getting 17x11 for those.
If you want wider tires, get wider wheels.

i see you wrote 16". if you are using the stock 16" wheels, then a 255/50-16 would be the widest to go. the stock wheels are 8" wide.

yes. breaking the rear is up to you on how you launch it. i'm still on the stock rear.

nittos are about the best DR in the rain. MT will hydroplane about 40 mph, even new. BFG are pretty good as well. they just don't last.
