SES due to weather?

I had to drive the trans am to work today so I went out and started it about 10 min early to let it warm up, when I got in the car it had SES light on. Could it be because it was so cold out, has to be only single digits this morning? Car ran and drove fine so I am assuming it is nothing but I was just curious if anyone else has ever expirienced an SES light and got no symptoms of a problem. If it is still on during my days off work I am pulling the code to see what it says. Mods in sig.

common thing thats happened to eveyone with headers, the 02s freaked out.

I was thinking maybe they were having a hard time warming up perhaps, thanks for the input. I have the cheap AFR from autometer and when I got in the car the o2 were apparently functioning properly cause I was getting readings (normal) but then again like stated before I started it 10 min before I left, I am thinking it took longer than usual for the o2 sensors to heat up due to weather and made the com. think something was wrong.

This actually just happened to me. It set P0141, 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2). That circuit is actually fused, but I haven't checked whether that is the issue or not. If you have the same issue, the SES will not go out until you clear the code or the condition does not repeat. Car will still run fine, though.

The first step would be to pull that code to make sure it's an O2 code. It makes sense that it could be that. I would have the code pulled though to make sure.

heater circuit malfunction Bank 2 sensor 1 po1555 i think it was, I had it pulled after work, came up as a history code, I am assuming it was history due to the cold in the morning, had it cleared and no more SES since. Didnt drive it this morning though thinking I wont drive it unless it is warmer out it is -15 degrees with wind chill. this morning

Yeah, P0155 is Bank 2 Sensor 1 Heater Circuit Failure.

Since it's the heater circuit, the SES will come back on when the diagnostic fails during the second consecutive ignition cycle. So, starting the car while warm will preclude the diagnostic from running. It's likely that the condition will continue during the frigid weather or until the heater circuit is repaired (which, if your cable is in good condition... like mine... it means you'll just need to change the O2).

I've just turned the P0141 code to "don't illuminate MIL" until I change the O2. As I said, it should have no influence on how the car runs.
