Clutch questions.

I'm new to the site and I have a few questions. I've read tons of post but I'm still not sure whats going on. A little background first. I'm keeping a 1999 z28 for a friend in the military while he's away in Japan for 3 years. The car has 90k on it and runs great.

He told be that the clutch pedal would sometimes hang at the floor and you would have to pull it up with your foot then short pump it a few times. Well I've been driving it and the method was getting old so I bought a new master (which he told me was the problem). The fluid was pretty black so I installed it, bled it and it now doesn't have any pedal pressure. Well, kind of. The pedal seems to have a breaking point. Push it half way and it flops to the floor then you have to pull it back up. I'm confused, should there be a spring return or do I need to keep bleeding. I'm thinking of removing the line and drilling the hydro line like I've read, if that really helps and I've still got to keep bleeding I've even went ahead and drilled the hole so I can bleed it from the inside, it still sucks.

Got it guys. I had to pump the doo doo out of the pedal with the cap on to bleed it. Feels really good. now.
