any police officers on the forum?

Hey guys, I just turned 18 and im getting ready to prepare for college. I'm wanting to become a police officer.

I've always loved corvettes and f-bodys. And I'm hoping to own a vette if i become a police officer. I was just wondering if anyone on here is a cop who owns a vette or knows anyone. I know cops dont get paid the most money in the world, but as a single guy i hope it can be accomplished. thanks guys.

I retired 4yrs. ago as a motorcycle officer here in Miami.Fl. I
rode for 35yrs. and retired as a commander in the Motorcycle
unit.

I recommend you look at option of becoming a firefighter,

I'm a cop and had three Vettes (a 2000 and two 2005's).. I back in an fbody now.. Couldn't take having only two seats.

cops get paid pretty decent, depending on area. you'll be fine, if youre smart with your money. good luck though. i have a friend that was just hired on as a cop and 2 others looking to get in.

Too bad you don't live in the Seattle area. They are BEGGING for peeps to enroll for both local and State..
I mean they have ADS on the backs and sides of the local mass transit buses asking peeps to check out either option for a career.

I know cops in a city just south of me get paid around 70-80K a year. My bud is dating the Chiefs daughter and he himself is getting hooked up into the force. They have a huge $350,000 home with a pool and walkout/finished basement. Awsome home. I know they get great pensions too.

Damn, cops around here make like $30k a year. Then again you can buy a house for like $20k so maybe that is why they don't make much.

Im starting the 1st phase of training this tuesday........We are the highest paid start-off wage in the state for a Parish(County) 34K after taxes. I cant wait to start!!!

Some of the cops around here make well into the six-figure range. Most of that comes from working a lot of overtime which leaves little time to enjoy driving a vette.

I know around here your looking at about 30k starting off. There is alot of money to be made off duty as well. Around here all the local malls, clubs and even drag strips hire officers to keep the peace. Alot of times there making more per day/hour doing that than when on duty.

13 mins......i ran today and its gunna be close actually.....i havent ran in 4 years..lol....but ill have more motivation tuesday

I ran one in 7.5 back in my day. Now I'd be happy with 17.5. It sucks getting old.
