Best (affordable) Subwoofers in Stock Placement
Hey. Just got my car a couple days ago and the only thing wrong with it is the subwoofers at the rear seats are blown. They rattle so I have to keep the bass all the way down.
I saw the thread on the eu700 speaker install and was wondering if they are the best in the price range. I want something that can keep up well with bass guitar, not just thump, thump. Also, note that it will be using stock amp on a 98 T/A.
What do you guys recommend?

I ordered an upgraded version of the original sail panel speakers off ebay... they were 90.90 shipped.. apparently they can handle more power than the factory speakers.
go to ebay and search for trans am sail panel speaker

nope not yet.. i ordered them last week i think, but they were out of stock and they didn't tell me.. so i called them to see what was up and they said they wouldn't be able to get them for another few days becuase they were out. But I should be getting them in this week.. hopefully!
Same thing happened to me when I bought my car, the passenger sail panel was blown, and now the driver side one is going/gone.
Those Eu700's are backordered for a long time too.. I originally ordered some in december and they were backordered till Jan 1st, now they're back ordered till next month.. I have a feeling it's gonna be like that for a while.
Plus they don't exactly fit in like the stock ones... you gotta do some fitting. These just plug right up where the stock ones are, according to the guy it's like a 5 min job.

^ sweet. I might just wait and see how yours are. Then again, I'm too impatient lol. I'll probably just go with those. Who was the seller?

Text says that they are indeed OEM.
But I'll bet the dealer wants a LOT more than $42 each

^ just checked today. over $80 EACH. They are $90 shipped a PAIR on eBay.
Guess I should have known better than to think the dealer would have a descent price. I'm ordering them from eBay tonight.

I called again today, and they said they STILL didn't even have them in. The guy said he would talk to the manager and find out what's going on and call me back but he never did.. I'll be calling again tomorrow..

When you get them, could you record the numbers on the back?
Then compare them to the speakers that M-Ten is getting.
I'd be curious to see if they are the exact same speaker.

Mystic Teal Metallic 79U- 1998 Pontiac Trans Am
Just so you know guys those are the same old GM DVC 6.5" sailpanel subs. They are not special and haven't been changed. They last about as long as the other ones do to. They are a good option for the Firebird/Trans Am with the Monsoon though as they are the only other option for DVC 6.5" subs. eD makes the other one and they were on back order to.
I have several others in a single voice coil version that will work but you would use only one pair of wires in the Firebird/Trans Am or just like they are for the Camaro. PM me for details.
