    Passenger Side Header

I am in the middle of installing Pacesetter LT's on my 94 Z28 and have run into yet another problem. I have the front and back of the car on jacks or jackstands, but I still can't seem to wiggle the passenger side header in all the way. I think its the EGR tube on the header that is hitting a bend in the fender wall. Does any one have any advise or suggestions on getting the thing to clear? I have tried almost every angle on the damn thing, but it still won't go. I have tried from the top and bottom (I know its suppose to go in from bottom) but no luck. I have already scratched the hell out of the primaries anyway. Thanks.

We did that on a buddies LT.. pass side went in from the bottom.. but had to remove the oil dipstick first. Its a tight fit.. but give it a little finess.

Yeah, I removed the oil dipstick too. I just can't seem to get it all the way in. I've been messing with it for almost 6 hours now with no luck.

try jacking it up just a little bit higher, i know for me, thats what worked, that extra inch really helped out, it was a lot harder than drivers side, but it does go on.

I installed mine from the top, just remove the valve cover and dipstick.

Well, to keep everyone updated. I am borrowing a cherry picker and I am going to support the engine from the top instead of the bottom. I am going take the motor mount bracket off the engine block and pivot the engine up a little more to get the clearance. I hope to do this Wed afternoon. Should at least have the header in with the motor back in place by the time I call it quits on Wed.

This is why I'm scared to buy headers for my car lol... 400+ bucks and 1 hell of a nightmare... for 15-20hp/ftlbs yikes... I'm gonna do it tho, eventually lol

Its really not that bad. You just have to fight rusted bolts and tight places. Some people have to raise the engine, some don't. I just got unlucky, but at least I didn't have any clearance issues with the steering knuckle. But I have learned a hell of a lot with this experience.

It really is the only bolt on that will add feelable power.

Yea that's what I've been told... Then again the horror stories about the plugs & wires had me leary of that and I didn't think it was TOO bad... not easy, but not the worst experience ever. The biggest factor is the sound from adding headers, my exhaust is loud as heck now, but it lacks that deep tone, headers should get it soundin just right

I finally got mine up and running today and ran open headers. I'm not going to put the Y-pipe on for a little bit. Its louder than what I thought it would be. It sounds like a pure dragster just sitting there.
