I don't understand why some states see the need for a front plate, they can cut their production costs in half.

Iowa...have to have front plate, and NO window tint. Talk about bullsh*t. I have tint, and didnt have the front plate forever. Tickets add up fast. Having a front plate on is better than playing the $75 ticket. Still have the tint tho! It looks to bad ass on a black car..

In Wisconsin I think they have to stop on something else then they can give you an addtional one for the LP. cause I have driven by plenty of cops with none and ive never been stoped.

very little tint is allowed on the front windows in California. Also a front license plate is required. I have the SS grille in the front so no front plate. I'm gambling. Let's see if they stop me. I bet they will sooner or later.

I'm in CA too. No front plate on my SS or STS (daily driver). Both have tint, too.

I think socal (san diego) cops aren't too strict about this as long as you're not driving like an idiot. IOW, they won't pull you over *just* for no front plate/tint.

I lived in Calif. for 43 years, had been pulled over too many times to count for no front plate, tinted windows, exhaust was too loud, girlfriend was too ugly, the list went on, and on. Now that I'm in Washington, I've only been pulled over in the Camaro once, and I deserved it BIG time!!! The Cop was totally cool, and let me off on everything, he was a car guy to the max...if you listen carefully, you can still hear the Cally boy in me...sorry to hear 'bout yer ticket Bro. P.S. please note in Avatar the Limo tint, and Billet grill with no plate

it should just be a simple "FIX IT" ticket unless you left some negative impression on the officer and that's why you got a $132 ticket...

yup...you should only have to pay the fine if you don't put a plate on and get the ticket signed by any cop. If you fix it just bring the signed ticket to the court before your court date and they'll take care of it. There's usually a $20-$30 processing fee though

I saw a guy with a Formula and he had it attached to the air dam. He was from NJ and said he never had a problem in 5 years.

You guys know that you can buy an LP bracket from SLP that bolts to the bottom of the front bumper and doesn't interfere with you aftermarket grills, right ??

It's only a $18 fine here, one that I gladly pay, which so far has just been once.

No, they actually make money when people keep breaking the law and getting tickets for it.
