    Help with hesitation

hey guys I have a 99 z28 camaro that has just started a very slight hesitation after i installed a K+N filter. I want to clean the maf first because I think the oil from the filter may be causing the problem. If I use electronic cleaning spray where should I spray it? I pulled my lid and behind it I just see a honey comb. Should I just spray it through there?

    Thanks,
    Steve

If you loosen the clamp behind the MAF (between MAF and manifold) and unplug it you will be able to remove it. The rear portion of the MAF does not have an air straightener (honeycomb). Spray the electronic components thoroughly and let dry. Make sure to install the MAF in the same direction it was facing before you removed it. Stock MAF's have a vane that covers a good portion of the electronics. I personally remove the aluminum housing when cleaning the sensor and I also use Q-Tips to, VERY CAREFULLY, clean the sensor's wires. Since I de-screened, ported, and polished my MAF I am able to clean it without having to disassemble it. I have that problem also with my K&N where I'll clean and re-oil the filter and at my next oil change I'll have to clean the sensor. Just once per filter cleaning so it's not that bad.

Try Advance Auto. I've seen it in many of those stores.

well i tried it and when I drove it at first it still seemed to hesitate but after a little while it seemed to stop. I guess it worked, I also took the car through the gears from a launch to see if I could feel a difference and it seemed to take off pretty good...even got it to chirp third gear which it has not done in a little while. For now I guess its problem solved.
