SS hands down. I don't know if you've driven a GT before but I drove my cousins and he was in my car and I couldn't get that bitch to stay with the SS. I was probly a car ahead of him and when he threw her in 3rd gear she just started to haul ass on the GT. So the SS will walk away.

The one with the manual will win. If both manual the SS will win.

See, its responces like these that confuse me.
Isnt there 2 threads within the last year stating that new mustangs actually do have potential to run with us?

LS1 will smoke that slow 4.6. I drove my friends 04 GT with CAI, aftermarket cats and magnapack (magnaflow with glasspacks) exhaust. Slow as shit, but pretty loud. I raced what had to be a stock GT from 60 to 115 and pulled at least 3 cars.
It all comes down to 5.7>4.6 and T56>T5(i'm guessing)1999 Trans Am M6
SLP Short Throw, Lid and CAI, Strano Springs, Koni Sport Shocks, BMR STB and SFC, UMI PHB, Pacesetter LT's and ORY, Magnaflow Catback, DMH 3" E-Cutout, LS7 Clutch, Motive 4.10, 160 T-Stat, MSD wires,, 17x9.5 Chrome C6's wrapped in Hankook 275/40/17
Tuned at Mongillo Motors in New Haven, CT - 303 RWHP and 308 RWTQ

can these please stop being threads????
search this subject....then search it again.
nothin like beating a dead horse.
this is an ls1 website. of course we're gonna tell you the Ls1 wins. you know why? because it does. in terms of performance comparisons the GT is a joke. i repeat, a JOKE! they are nice enough cars, but if you concern yourself with performance there is only one way to go.
No, not Honda
F body!!!! dig, roll, in snow, on patches of ice, on the beach, in the swiss alps, and on the dragstrip.
dont fool yourself, the LS1 is waterproof too, and yes it can beat yachts.

i dont mind the simple questions, but this has been answered 1000 times. yes they are. thats again, crank horse power. i would say they get about 275 at the wheels. the wheels is the only thing that matters. and horsepower, (if i really want to start a shit storm) is the lesser important factor. our 5.7s make a good bit more torque, which dictates speed. i dont know poundage numbers, but i think they are alittle chubby compared to f-bodies.
dont quote me verbatim on this stuff because im an e-thug. but i know i raced one on the highway from 50 and i pulled away fast and hard.

When my car just had a CAI and Borla, I beat a few GTs last summer. They sound nice, but can't keep up.

Basically to sum it up, the 2005 up Mustang GT has made more ground form the previous generations, but still can't beat the LS1's stock for stock.

no 4.6L mustang will beat an LS1 unless it has h/c or lots of spray or turbo/supercharger or all off the above lol. the 06 and the mach 1 might have 300hp but ls1 has around 300Wheel hp and 350 ft lbs. i'm not sure about weight differences but the f body is 300 or so pounds lighter than the cobras.
Stock Mustang(non-saleen or S/C cobra) < Stock LS1 F body PERIOD!
