bar connecting rear end to transmission?
today i started hearing a banging sound coming from my driveshaft tunnel. i lifted the car and found that there is a black stamped steel bar that connects the rear end to just above the output shaft on the trans.
well anymway, the nut that holds it to the trans fell off so it was banging around on every bump brake and acceleration. i got a new grade 8 nut and fixed it.
question is, is that a stock part or aftermarket,i dont remember seeing it on my other camaro. nad what is it called? is that the panhard bar?

Cut him some slack. We were all a little green at one point or another.
It's the torque arm. It helps to plant the rear during accel/decel.
