    Power Pack conversion??

i was wondering if anyone has made the conversion from the opti spark distributor to the power pack. i seen then for around $750 wich i think would be well worth it. i wanna know because the next time i have to go through the pain of changing the opti spark i was thinking of converting for future convienence.

You mean the LTCC? GM High Tech Performance just did an article on swapping the opti for one of those LTCC kits. I think it takes some fabrication, depending on where you want to mount the coils and wire splicing, but I haven't heard much if its worth it one way or the other.

If it would totally do away with the opti it would be worth it.

With the LTCC kit, you still have to keep the opti intact for it to read position of cam/crank (well, something) to relay to the kit, but that's about it. Everything is pretty much supplied with the kit, except for mounting stuff I think, because people want to mount the coils in different places.

The optical sensor is what useally goes bad in the opti. Thats where the computer gets it signal to fire the coil, or the coils in the LTCC kit.

MBA products had the best mounting kit for the LTCC, now it looks like this comapny has purchased the patents c/w cnc cad files and are making all the parts again.

Check out this clean mounting for the LTCC coils:
