Split exhaust rear valance?
Looking to change my rear valance, at least I think that is the correct term. Want the split rear exhaust, rather than the side by side. Would rather have the split single exhaust tips rather than the split duals.
Anyone know where to buy (other than from Pontiac)? Cost? Expected labor / material cost for painting / installing?
I *believe* the 2005 had the split dual tips, and the 2006 had the split single tips? Is that correct?

you can either do a swap to the 05/06 rear, or get the SAP rear, which also has two exits for tips.

The 05 and 06 rears are identical. Both have 1 pipe on each side. What you could also do which is what I am in the process of doing is having a second hole cut in the 04 bumper and put the inserts on sold by pfyc.com. that way you will have and 04 bumper not an 05 or 06 bumper on an 04. Either option will look really good. I just think the route I am going is a little cleaner.

on there website go to exhaust and it is on the second page. I get my inserts on monday. I am gonna look at it and see if it is something I can do myself. If not then I will talk to the body show. I cant imagine more than about 200.

Not that I have done this yet but from reading a post on another site, a guy said that a template comes with the insert and he cut out his own.
He also mentioned to make sure of your orientation/placement of the right side cutout and to cut the opening slightly smaller at first and fine tune it.
Use a Dremel/Rotozip for this.04/A4 Quicksilver

And you do realize that you will need to mount a hanger on the right side as well ?
Never mind, I just remembered that JBA sends a pass. side hanger.Last edited by GOT1GOAT; 10-23-2006 at 01:16 PM.

Well the good news is the cutting is done, and the exhaust is in. The bad news is the exhaust needs some tweeking, and the inserts wont stay in place. Solution to these problems is easy......let a pro finish them. I worked for 11 hours over the past 2 days, so I am done. The pipes look nice coming out both sides really adds to the car. now I just need to get it all tweeked and it will be perfect.
Pucci.
I need headers now.

Well I got the pipes aligned today. Looks really good. Now i just need to get to a body shop and have them fit the inserts and I will be DONE. The catback is starting to come to life now as well.
Pucci.
Headers are gonna be my next project. Or wheels havent decided yet.

2004-Quick Silver- 11 Second Club
I have an 04 GTO and thought the same thing as you I had a local body shop cut out the passenger side ...came out real good as far as mounting the brackets you have to cut out or take off part of the valence ...No biggie the good news is if you get the speed built banshee exhaust made by Borla PFYC.COM... IT COMES WITH THE INSERTS NOW...But not when I bought it I was like the first one to get this I had my car since Feb of 2004 didn't come with inserts.
Anyway there is a mounted threaded hole already in place for the exhaust on that side no drilling!!!! this is were the hanger will go Here is there web sight
http://www.pfyc.com/pc/GT5003/GTEXH/...k+Exhaust.html
The sound I love not to loud when going slow but when you stomp on it sounds great ...No Drone Either ...Believe me I have had 6 different systems over the years on other cars and I like this one the best.
Click on my web sight or check out my 1/4 mile pass and you can really hear what it sounds like...Hope this helps G/L
