Freshly Waxed Candy Orange LT1 Bird
Well, decided to start a new thread instead of dig up the old one. Just put a coat of wax on the 'ol girl and decided to snap a few more pictures.
There's just two more on my cardomain if you feel the need to take a look-see.

I'll feel a lot better once I get some wheels on there.
I'm thinking Torq Thrust M's in anthracite 17x8 or 9 and 17x10.5, maybe chrome, or the 17x9 Speedline stockers off the newer t/a's. I've found a bunch of other designs i like as well, but nothing to my taste, really except the TTMs and those others.

Is that a factory color? That is sweet. I want to lick it to see if tastes good! It looks like it would.

No, not a factory color. the car was originally some crap color of red and the paint was shot. It's actually 13 coats total including primer and clear. There was only one coat of primer over the entire car before painting (not including the spot-priming), 3 coats of a Light Driftwood Gold basecoat (which is a GM color) and then 5 coats of Candy Mandarin Orange, followed by 3 coats of clear. It took somewhere between 9-11 hours of spraying to get done.
As for cleaning the tires or using any of that tire shining stuff, that stuff's for the birds, especially with these bald tires and ugly wheels. Add to the fact that I live on a dusty dirt road, yeah, those two things don't mix. I dont even use armorall, it attracts too much dust in my opinion. *shrugs*Last edited by Zapper2003; 04-05-2007 at 06:02 PM. Reason: My math sucks, its actually 12 coats, lol

It's a tough color! I wish my Vette had that color.

All it takes is time and money! The paint/prep only set me back around 600-650 for materials. However, a paintbooth would be nailing you to the wall for the paint (because its 'special') and the labor involved is nuts.
