Axle Seal Issues
Al sarcasim can be left at the door please as this is a rather problemmatic issue, I have gone through two sets of seals in about as many weeks, the most recent was a full failure resulting in the rotor and pad getting saturated in oil. The forst two sets were installed by a shop after a rebuild.
The issue is that the axle shaft is near the same diameter of the ID of the seal and rough casting is catching the seal ring. So is there a proper way to to install the axles with our damaging the seals? I have GM aka AC Delco seals coming and really wnat to fix this once and for all so i don't cook the rear end, i can not afford a new 12 bolt or a new 10 for that matter.

83 Z28 new project- 98 Formula WS7-sold:(
Where the seal rides on the axle may be wore down. Its a common ailment on GM 10 bolts. What you would need to is buy what they call a repair bearing, the BCA number is rp5707 I believe. Its a bearing and seal all in one piece and it changes the position where the seal rides. That should fix your problem once and for all.

Thanks, if the new set of seals from GM don't work that may be my next option.
