Need a new/used rear end. Things to look out for on used?

Hey, the SS has been in the shop for over a week waiting for me to either find a used rear end or have the shop use one of the ones they found and get charged ~$500 for it. I know I can find a cheaper alternative but am having trouble locating one. Anyone know of solid place to find a used rear end or can shed some light on things to look out for when installing our rear ends? Please let me know, thanks!

What exactly happened to yours? What are you needing housing chunk or all of it? 3 channel or 4?

Im not sure, it was really wierd..I was running errands with no troubles and I was pulling out of a parking spot and went to put it in 1st and all of a sudden felt like the gears were grinding or something was wrong..I looked under the car thought maybe it was a loose tq arm or something but all checked out..went back again to put it in first and was the similar feeling now like the syncros or something wern't grabbing and looked under the car again only this time to see all the fluid draining out of the rear housing..had to get it towed to the AAA shop until I was able to get it to a different one where it sits now..the 2nd guy who does good work thought he could rebuild it instead of having it replaced like the AAA shop said but when he looked at it he said it was a mess inside. I was out of town for most of last week and is killing me that I can't take a look and really find out what is up with work and all. If I knew I was keeping the rig for much longer I would replace it with a 9 or 12 bolt but I think I am looking for a solid used replacement and need one fast.

So basically you need just a centersection and not the actual housing. Does it have traction control or just ABS?
