Quick drug test question

Heres the deal:
Im starting new job in 2 weeks that i have been wanting for years, i dont do drugs but i had surgery last week cuz my finger got chopped off at work and i have been on percocet and demoral painkillers. What do i do if they show up on the drug test? They wont contact the company right away and say "hey this guy has opiates in his system" will they?

If i quit taking these pain pills will they be out of my system in 2 weeks?

show them youre script for the drugs.
you do have the bottles with the pills correct?
tell them about it. you will come back hot for drugs and the company will know.
call the company now and tell them you forgot to say that you were on pain pills.

it's better to be up front about it tell the company that is doing the test and tell the company that is going to be hiring you.

it's not like you are doing them illegally but if you are just that worried they SHOULD be out of your system as far as a urine test goes in 2 weeks.... even if youstop taking them i would still inform them of it, that way you get no surprises

Meds/Drugs generally last about 30 days in your system. The hospital/caregiver won't give any information due to HIPPA laws. Honesty is the best policy.

When you do the paper work before the drug test most places ask if you've been taking any cold medicines, perscription drugs, etc. As long as you have a valid perscription for the they can not block you from the job for it.

Ya its just scary with employers having that "at will" clause to be able to fire you for no dang reason or just retract their employment offer to me without a second thought

Just tell them the truth and show them the perscription papers and give them your doctors phone number. dont stop taking them if they help with the pain, that would just suck. I would recommend telling them as soon as possible, even before the test.

if the doc gave them no worries if not start looking for a new job and get off the drugs if u get them from store or on the conner drugs are drugs.

you guys do relize opiates stay in your system for allot longer than that.. 1-2 months is more like it.
but you've got a script so your all set

only pot stays in your system up to 30 days......everything else varys from 24hrs to 5 days....stop taking them now and they will DEFINITLY be out of yoru system in 2 weeks.....AND be honest with them and bring the bottles in just in case.......no problems bro

sszozo: as far as the story for my finger, we were about to flush a sewer line at work and i lifted up on this manhole with the manhole hook and had it raised up and i didnt have a good grip so with my left hand i put it underneath the manhole lid to lift it up and my hook slipped out and the dang rusty lid chopped about 1/2 inch of my middle finger off with the bone stickin out. it was a good experience overall, my first surgery so that was fun
