My First KILL-in a 6 Speed!!!!

well... the Drougt (spelling) is over!!!... I finally got a new race to happen...and I'll be dammed if it wasn't a Evo!!!

it was one EVO that I had raced once before in my Camaro... well tonight I took out my dad's 6-speed Vett with a buddy of mine ... and raced the damn Evo...

Race 1

10mph Roll... I let him get the jump and it was over from there...

Race 2

retry... this time taking off at the same time... but wouldn't you know it... my inexperience with Manual Trans... cost me the race by missing... GULP... 2nd...

Race 3

Now i'm pissed...and decided to give it my best shot... 10mph roll... took off dead one with the countdown... and I was off... gained about a car lenth on him...and there he stayd at about the end of 3rd...he gave up and pulled off in the nearest exit... and damn if it doesn't feel good knowing I DID it myself...shifting and such!...

Vett is BONE STOCK

EVO 8 - Intake and exhaust...(from what they said it had)

... I actually raced that dude once...in my Camaro...I beat him by about half a car... and my car is Auto./Free-Mods/Lid/!Cat ... and that's it... so from at roll at least... that Evo isn't THAT fast...

but still the Vett is stock...and I was starting to doubt it's power...seeing as it was so used and abused when we got it...

I didn't post it... it's a

1998 C5 Convertible, with about 85Kmiles on it... and a 6-speed trans...

mods include... 2002 model year Rims, and a Hurst Billet Plus shifter...

Motor, trans and rear end...are all Bone Stock

it might get some mods later one... Intake/Headers/Exhaust...and might get a tune depending on the tunner I buy for my Camaro...

Sounds like they were bullshitting about the Evo though, it had way more than just "intake and exhaust" to hang with a Vette. Not only does the Vette have about 80WHP more, but it also weighs considerably less.

Ricers are hilarious, they always pretend to not have any mods.

yeah I was pretty sure it had more mods... I think the Carbon Fiber Hood was a bit of a give away..

i gotta pro 5.0 w/short stick, i slam into second so fast i can barley get the pedal to the floor in time, once in awhile it'll grind going into second.

Another newbie question, is it bad when ur gears grind? It seems to me while in first gear it sounds like its grinding or something.

ahh allways give yourself time to engage and disenage the clutch. It will take a little bit to get the hang of it but you should be fine with some experience
