    Injector Help

    Hi,

I have a 94 Camaro LT1 that has been sitting idle for 4 years. I am putting it in my 70 Elky. I have read that the injectors get clogged up if they were sitting for a long period of time. I took them to a local shop to have them sonic cleaned and tested, but he said that he could not clean them because they were "Multi's. Not sure what that means. Should I replace them or give them a try first? What is the stock size of injector? The engine is entirely stock. What brand of replacement injector is the most recommended for the LT1's?

    Thanks for you help.

    Mike

A very good and inexpensive stock-size injector is the 24lb. units from Accel. They are a Bosch design and provide a better spray which results in better atomization of fuel over the stock units. I have used these injectors on several of my past LT1's (in their bolt-on trim), so they are tried and true - atleast with me. They go for about $279.

Thanks for the input. I will try the Accel's.

I have some 30lb Accel injectors on mine, had some trouble tuning with them but I can't lay full blame on them due to a leaking intake manifold (vaccum leak). But I have been told by the tuner I worked with that he's experienced problems with them also, he recommended SVO's.
