What pushrods with crane rockers?
I am doing a cam swapp and i got a set of Crane gold race variable ratio rockers, the 1.7s. the kit that i got had 7.25 length pushrods in the with them. the springs that i got had pushrods that are 7.4. i know stock length pushrods are 7.4 but do i need to run the 7.25 with the crane rockers? i was wondering why they came with the shorter pushrods and if i need them.

I believe you can run the standard length pushrods as long as the base circle of the cam hasnt been changed. In my opinion and from what ive learned the stock length pushrods should work just fine. If youve changed cams id recommend contacting who the cam is made by and see what they recommend.

i changed the cam but i thought you just run normal length pushrods unless you mill the heads. since the rockers i got have shorter pushrods and they are for LS1s i dont know what rods to use. do i need the shorter pushrods with the Crane rockers?

True. running the stock length pushrods should be just fine as long as the the crane rockers are the same ratio as the stock units. I dont understand why they would send you a different length. If you have been running the cam with the stock rockers and standard length pushrods, and it ran just fine id see no reason to change the pushrod length. If you do put shorter pushrods in there it will affect the camshafts lift profiles .

Id really recommend contacting crane and ask why they put the shorter ones in the kit. The ratio of the crane rockers could be a little more than the stockers, that might would be the reason for the the shorter pushrods. Contacting them would be your best bet.

yes you must use the shorter 7.250 pushrods. i've had the 1.8 rockers on both cars.
