gas talk removal
I have a 98 trans am I am trying to remove the gas tank to install a racetronics 55lpm fuel pump.............got to the point where everything is loose mufflers removed back two suspension bars removed ........but the tank will not go to the right enough to let the throat of the gas tank clear the opening that its in it appears if I remove the right rear spring that it might move to the right enough to drop it down.....its always something why would they make it this hard to replace a fuel pump????? any help would be appreciated thanks I am new on here......I am interested to know 1/8 mile times for other trans ams and what mods they have I have slp headers after market maf put mega rapter transmission 4l60E with 2500 stall converter K&n open cone filter and a power programer and the last time I was at the track holt dragway i ran a flat 8 second 1/8 with bald nittos spinning halfway down the track I have just purchased MT drag radials and I am installing the fuel pump to power the nitrous That i just purchased I am going to run a 175 shot I am going to have it tuned for the 175 shot wonder what I will be running after i am finished thanks everybody..Pousson in pensacola fl

I think allot of people use the trap door method (from the top cutting a door for access).

You'll have to loosen everything up and lower the rear as low as you can get it. Make sure you free up the brake lines on the drivers side as they will stretch tight when you lower the rear. It's kind of tricky getting it out the first time. The tank has to go forward and twist upwards at the same time.

take the lower mounts of the shocks off the rear. remove panhard rod.
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers
