Tree Sap on Paint?
What is a good product to remove tree sap without damaging clear coat paint? I get it from an oak tree next to my driveway. Thanks.

yea id like to know the same thing...its already starting to get to my paint. also i heard that on alot of fbodys (mine included) that if the paint gets to heated up sittin in the sun the paint will actually bubble up. now i could be wrong, but ive heard of it on another site and i have some of those little bubbles.

Clay bar would be my first choice be sure to keep the area really wet even wetter than you normally would with a clay bar, then 100% pure eucalyptus oil and wd40 all work.
And yes tree sap can mess up your paint especially if its in the sun alot. I have a spot on my drivers door where sap was and it has left the paint all wierd looking.05 PBM GTOCold Air Inductions CAI,Relocated IAT with omega,Slp Predator tune,Flowmaster axle back with H pipe,Custom tuned TCM.BC Racing coil overs

WD-40 to get the big glob off. then clean it up with the clay bar.

Years ago when I worked in a Body Shop, the first thing we did was wash down the area we were going to work on with good old plain water to get the sap off. Wax/grease remover doesn't get it off...Laquer thinner doesn't get it off... just plain old water.

Tarminator by Stoners. Check your local Checker or Autopart Store. They should carry it

NAPTHA. Wont damage your paint - just make sure to wash it off afterword and rewax that area as it will strip off your wax. I use it a lot on all of my cars I've had. Started using it when I realized dried tree sap wouldn't come off with the other products for sap removers, etc I had tried. We got a lot of the stuff sitting around since my dad owns a guitar company.
