    which would you pick?

(First off I hope I've started this thread in the right place; If not please move it.)

I'm thinking of maybe doing either of the following and was wondering what the best deal would be!

    1. 383 stroker complete engine (rated at 450 hp)
    2. h/c package (rated at approx. 400 hp and 11's.)
    3. stroker rotating assembly

As you can see I'm wanting around 400 rwhp and closer to 11's. Which would you pick if you had the choice, or would you pick something else? If so state it. Thanks.

Well, I've had every option up there. My H/C did 436/420 and my 383 does 460/455, but there is much more than just peak numbers. The stroker drives so much nicer with its flat torque curve. I also plan a 90/90 intake soon, so that should pick up at least 10-15rwhp. The thing is, you can do a 402/408 stroker for not much more $ than a 383. Way more head choices and will make evn more power.

    danziger thanks for the input!

What stroker do you have, 383, 402, 408(setup?)? I don't mind spending a little more for the 402/408 if there is big power difference.

Is your car a dd? Mine would have to remain a dd, but be able to kick some ass on the street if I need it, and be able to prove it on the track!

    Thanks

hm.... that is one other option. what kind and how much would it cost me? What supporting mods would I need? And by any chance would anybody know the hp numbers I could see with it? (in the mean time i'll check the induction section) thanks

you can put on a supercharger on a totally stock motor and still gain loads of h.p.
you can have one installed for alittle over 7k total.

I have a 383, but if I did it all over, I would have just gone 402/408. The larger bore allows for even better heads, which will ultimately make more power. The extra 20+ cubes don't hurt either and the engine is more "square", meaning the bore and stroke are more proportional.
I don't DD mine, but I could. If you DD it, forced induction or nitrous are worth looking into as well. Blower, turbo or stroker are all going to end up costing around $8K when everything is said and done...

If you are considering a blower, look into a Procharger.

If I were to go fi, I would go with procharger or something like that, but I would love to keep it n/a though. I think since I'm more on a budget build I'll stick with a good h/c package until I save up some more money for a 402/408 later. Maybe when I get back from my next deployment. Thanks for the input.
