An SRT8 was ssssmoked!!
I don't street race, too many close calls when I was younger. But today, well this guy was just asking for it. Jet black, very clean, very new 300c srt8. No question what it was. Rode my ass through traffic, 'till we got to the light. As the minivan in front turned left, We both pulled to the line and he started revvin at me. His car sounded nice, but mine was louder.. It was pretty clear what was gonna happen after that. That stoplight seemed to last for hours. When the light finally turned green, we both dropped the hammer. There was a little wheelspin and tire smoke from both cars. We left the line dead even, but by the end of 1st gear it was clear the Hemi was outgunned, and by second, he was gettin' a great view of my honeycomb taillights, and by third I had 3 cars on him. We shut it down at about 80 (this was a city street, after all) I gave him a thumbs up, but he turned off behind me. Maybe he was bitter, but Why? Can't win them all. How fast are those things supposed to be anyway?

Good kill. You must run 12:50's or better. They do pick up steam and had you run to 110mph you would have had a better idea.
Here is a recent vid of my buds 300C SRT8 STOCK!

Here is the thread.

Here is another buddy from the site. His post
"So i went to the track again to night took the wife and kids too.
I also let my oldest son race my Vette since his Mustang needs a clutch i will do tomorrow of course. So i had an idea that i will run some 104 race fuel and it turned out not too bad i run my best so far .
R/T .585
60' 1.970
330 5.480
1/8 8.341
MPH 85.89
1000 10.800
1/4 12.871
MPH 109.29"
An SRT8 300C will be my next car with bolt ons, CNC heads and 100 shot. Wonderful cars. They actually do 175-176 mph stock!

"My CSRT-8 has less than 200 miles on it, but I had the urrrrrge to try it out on an open freeway.....and voila, I was doing 176mph with absolutely no adrenalin rush, that is how the car made me feel like I was driving 120mph{except for the engine sound of course )
The car IS speed limited to 275+kph (around 176mph) because the throttle started going up and down to prevent me from going faster...Damn steady car at that speed that you feel you can do it again and again and again"Last edited by JayplaySS2; 09-29-2007 at 03:00 PM.

O.K. gotcha. Sorry if I came across like a jerk. I'm a little irratable tonight. I Had a long day.
Those SRT's are a lil' quicker than I thought. Is the one in the video stock? Also I noticed on that forum that someone asked if the second run was against a GN. Did you set them straight and tell them it was just a Monte? Lol

Most SRT-8s won't run 12s unless its cold out. But they are very fast....
Good kill man. You gotta have mods if you took him out by that much to 80, but boy they fly on the top end. Nothin that should walk away from a LS1 to bad though. But they would walk away from a stock LS1 on the high end.

I have no idea what my ride runs, i havn't even had her to the track yet! She's cammed, stalled, tuned, with full bolt-ons, and a stage2 4l60e with a shift kit. It's time I get to work on the suspension though i think, she can be a bit of a smokeshow I wonder if the guy thought he'd tear me up? maybe that's why he darted off down the side street to avoid me? I wouldn't do that! Ah, i'm just guessin'.

12.50's in a stock SRT-8 300 my A** Try low 13's - high 12's if your lucky. They are not in C6 territory.

So uhh, are ya saying, based on this, my 'bird is likely be in mid to low 12's? Would you say that's sufficent to take on a stock c6? I'm not trying to be cocky or anything, just wondering. She's not a race car, I run stock wheels, with street tires!
