Question $100 Electric Blower On eBay...?

Ok, so I bought one of these electric supercharger things. It claims to push alot of cfms into the intake manifold to create a "boosting effect"...well I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on these things... You should know what I'm talking about, they're plastic blower things mounted "anywhere" by your MAF... They sent me one that was for an LT1 style intake (L shape) not an inline...So I'm selling it and wanted some info on buying some cheap HP... Thanks guys.

I heard that those don't really work anyway. As for cheap horsepower...there is always nitrous oxide...unless you feel like blowing up on your stock internals. Making the engine breathe better is always good, so you got your intake/exhaust/headers but that's not gonna be a HUGE gain in hp, it will help with future mods. Are you completely stock right now?

That thing is a complete waste of money. It cannot push anywhere near enough cfms for your LS1. All it will do is create restriction in the air flow which will result in a signifiacnt decrease in HP.

Sorry you bought into that junk....it can't produce enough air to overcome the vacuum anyway, lol.

Cheap HP = lid, LS6 intake, headers, catback, etc...

Damn guys, no need to act so harsh... The theory behind it seemed promising... It's not belt driven so that should save on horses, if it was designed alot better it could probably do something. Not everyone can afford ProChargers...geeeeeeeezzz!

Well, Mike, I have to admit that it was my first reaction too. I saw these on eBay and said "wow, what a bargain!". Then I said, "what, a bargain?". I calculated through the volume that the fan would have to provide to pump air to a 5.7 liter engine, and decided that the capacity just was not there.
Unfortunately, it is a case of "you get what you pay for".
