Anyone here experienced with Zoop Seal

I just ordered the junior kit last night to use on the new wheels. I am not experienced with it though and was wondering if anyone has any pointers before I use it. I know its basically a sealant, lasts for approximately 2 years and can be over applied but thats about it. Any other info that can be posted up about it, is greatly appreciated.

This kit is rather tricky to apply. The key here is curing time. Make sure after each step of each application the product has cured. You can do this by running your finger across and make sure it does not smear, otherwise you're going to have problems with the following application. Another tip is to apply thin coats. Once again, follow the instructions, apply thin, and allow plenty curing time.
This could be a lengthy process. Zoop Seal does not shine your wheels. You need to have your wheels nice and polished prior to its application.

Have you used this Goose ?. Just wondering.....Heard good things about this stuff and bad.................

No, I haven't. I should've made that clear beforehand. Although I almost did.
I was in touch with a guy that was using it. I too wanted to try it. He gave me all his honest opinion and experience with this. So he pretty much emailed me the instructions how to apply it, as I described to you above. It was a trial and error, but at the end he was very happy with the results.
I decided not to give it a try at that time because it sounded too involved for me.
It's a good product for what I've read in few reviews done, the only knock it has against it is the process. But then again, to have it work as is supposed to you have to follow the steps as described. The guy that emailed me the instructions couldn't emphasize enough the curing time. He was having problems applying the next step layers because the product had not cured. Other than that, he said it lasted quite a while.
As you may already know, it does not polish your wheels, you have to have them clean and polished, then use the Zoop Seal to seal the shine, and protect them.
Good luck. You shouldn't have a problem if applied as described.

I was wondering if you had used it myself Goose, I have not encountered anyone on any forum yet that has personal experience with it. Thank you for clarifying. I should have also mentioned, the wheels I got are already polished, haven't been mounted and are getting Zooped prior to any mounting

The home site for Zoop says 7-10 days for curing, so yes it is a very in depth process. Everything you mentioned in your second post is pretty much everything I have been able to discover in online research about the product so far as well. Thanks for the info so far though

7-10 days! well, glad you have all the time in the world to get that done Preston. i am eager to see how that stuff works. also long term trials and test its durability. also once zoop is applied, that mean no polishing afterwards right?

Yep, should just be cleaning, no polishing.

I was looking into the Zoop Zeal last year around August. I wanted to do this TT Yellow Z06 for a fiend that got some expensive wheels, with very low mileage. At the end, I decided to get Adam's #1 & #2 polishing kit to clean them up with, and Rejex to seal them up. So far so good, although the car has not gotten much driving since. It's a 2004 Z06 with 1500 miles on it and a 434 TT motor. The guy just doesn't drive that car. Now is at the shop for even more modifications...

I don't recall the hp numbers. Should be somewhere in the 600 at the wheels

Yes, the wheels are not currently on the car. I plan to start the process tonight. After I read the instructions, it sounds pretty easy really. The kit comes with a cleaner that you mix with distilled water IIRC and then you dry the wheels. It also comes with a lint free rag, gloves, measuring cup, solution A & B that you must mix, plus the final sealant. The directions are very thorough, its just a very time consuming process. I will be giving my impressions after its been applied.

Before pics are already posted and I am going to be whoring up pics of my car like a madman after I get these wheels FINALLY on the car, so that won't be a hard request to meet

The Zoop in all honesty isn't going to make the finish on them any different than it already is, its just going to seal the existing finish

Yea that is my impression of it too...........
6 months----12 months-----18 months---- will tell the real story.
