Wheel jerking over bumps - normal?

Whenever of my front wheels feels a bump in the road, I feel it through the wheel - it jerks to that side and I have to really hold it to keep the car straight on some roads and its highly annoying.

Is something broken? It feels like it

Car corners tight when I want it to...but also turns when I don't want it to...

do you have stock suspension? how many miles? A little bit of feedback is normal, and big bumps can move the wheel...but the wheel shouldn't jerk out of your hands over little road irregularities.

Man, I have been struggling with this issue for a LONG time! Here's what I have done...
    1. The problem really got bad after going to 9.5" wheels.
    2. New rear shocks helped some.
    3. Removing the rubber isolators at the top of the rear springs helped some
    4. Tightening the steering rack input (the adjustment at the front of the rack) really helped, but made the steering more difficult.

My car tracks much better now, over all but the worst roads.
If you choose to adjust the steering rack, it requires a 1 3/4" socket to loosen the locknut, then only make a very small adjustment, less than 1 flat in the tighten direction. Once you retighten the locknut, start the car and ensure that the steering effort is acceptable before you road test.
    Hope this helps

So this tightens the steering (requires more effort)?

Not sure if I want to do that but it's a thought.

I guess it will just take some getting used to...

Yes, it increases effort. The great part about this is that it is undoable.

Question, will tightening that nut reduce any excessive play in the rack as well?
