The difference is in the muffler.

I've had both. The LM has alot more rasp and pop when you let off the accellerator. However when your accellerating, the LM sounds like a friggin NASCAR. It should be noted that I had the SLP Y-pipe and that's it. LM with headers is waaay to raspy. I run an LM2 now. It's a deeper rumble. LM2 is designed to eliminate most of the rasp and pops. It does a very good job at it. It is more civilized if that is what you want.

Well, they make the modular design now, where you can swap between the resonator and muffler. The modular design is the LM2 while the LM is the 'retro-fit' resonator piping.
Did you notice a difference in exhaust sound when you switched between the muffler and resonator?
