Better seriously consider a new rear end if you go with 4.11's.....M6 launches tend to blow up stock rear ends after long

I don"t believe thay make 4.11 gears for the 7.5 GM 10bolt. I believe that the next higher gear ratio is a 4.56. But I think that is just asking for a broken rear end.

My 4.11's are race cut. So they wine a bit. Not much of a diff.

There are 4.10's and 4.11's. 4.10 has 10 teeth on the pinion and 41 teeth on the ring. 4.11 has 9 teeth on the pinion and 37 teeth on the ring. I guess some people think there is a difference in the strength of one gear over the other. There may be other issues as far as the installation on one set vs. the other also.

i wonder which is stronger 4.10 or 4.11. i just bought a motive performance 4.10 gear , it was stamped 4.10 and everything , but it had 37 and 9 and when you do the math that is 4.11111111111 and so on. i was just kinda curious which would be stronger. one thought is that 41 and 10 have more teeth and that might make them better. another thought is that 37 and 9 have less teeth so they are bigger. i dunno , there is prolly no difference.

The 4.11 is stronger. it has more teeth and the stress of the drivetrain is spread more evenly over the ring gear. my advice to you would to upgrade your rearend to either a 1994+7.625 (75/8) or a 8.5.or even 12 bolt. these can all be had with 4.11 gears. but not factory. you have to go to auburn, eaton or richmond.

You can order the 4.11 from gm for the oem 7.5 10 bolt because gm put the same rear in the S-10 and they were available with 4.11 as an option. They are much more expensive than the motive or richmond gears though. I have a gm oem 4.11 gear set on a nexel torsen hd in one of my '02 setups.
