8.1 build

Has anyone ever seen a GM 8.1L performance build up and put into anything? Any info i can look for online? I think it would be cool to do

I know a popular engine right now is the GM crate engine 572ci (9.38L)

Yeah, but i see the fun in building something yourself. Though the crates are a good way to go.

8.1 your talking about the 496 out of 3/4 ton GM trucks, right?. Yeah I've seen plenty build ups. just about all your good parts heads cam and stroker kits from 454 work on that thing. Tons of potential at very reasonable cost.

Yep, that would be the one. I got to looking around, and found silverado called coolside II with an 8.1, very cool.

I have the 8.1 in my 02 crew cab HD 3/4 4x4 . I'm surprized of the power it gives to this tank. I bought it used with 60,000 miles and it has a magnaflow cat back and who knows what has been done to the engine but it sure does move out.
