    Camaro Rotors Incredible Deal

    Hey,

I just bought 4 new rotors for my '01 SS today that are slotted, cross drilled, and Zinc plated. I may have found an incredible source and deal. My stock rotors had to be replaced at 9,000 miles by GM, and cut after that. Now they are all warped again. They have been a headache ever since the car was new. They are bought from Brembo I am told, then this company does the slots, cross drilled holes, and then sends them out for plating (Plating can be skipped if desired). I paid $145.00 + $40.00 shipping for ALL 4 ROTORS ($184.99 total). I do not have them yet. They are being shipped from California to here (Philadelphia). I will be glad to share my source if anyone else is interested, but I want to wait until I get mine to see the quality. He has them for '93-'97's and '98-'02's. He indicates Camaro, but I bet they fit Pontiacs also. I forgot to ask him when I was talking to him today. Just send me an email if you are interested in checking them out. Just trying to help.

From all I've heard, if you have a Camaro, you're GOING to have warped rotors at some point and it's usually pretty soon after you get the car. Mine were replaced twice under warranty if I remember correctly and now at 60K they definitely need a replacement.

Please do post and let us know when you get them and let us know if they last a while after you're driving on them.

    Camaro Rotors Incredible Deal

    HI All,
I just heard from him. He was not able to send them out Friday for Zinc plating due to Good Friday. He says he should ship them to me by next Wednesday (4/19/06). I will keep you all apprised. FYI....he has these rotors for many cars besides GM's. Here is a pic attached.

I've always wondered, with those slots cut in, do those rotors eat brake pads a lot worse than regular smooth rotors?

A few things are for sure.
    1) The car stops a heck of a lot faster.
    2) The rotors stay a lot cooler, which helps the car stop faster (hotter rotors do not work as well) and since the rotors stay cooler, they are much less prone to warping. They may wear the pads a tiny bit more, but I believe the benefits outweigh the minute possibility of getting a couple thousand less miles out of your pads. If you do your brakes yourself, they are not that expensive to replace anyway. Plus they are Zinc Plated after the drilling and slotting, so rusting will almost be a non-issue.
    3) They look bad ash !

Everyone, please read the post. I do not have them yet. They got Zinc plated today and he should be shipping them to me tomorrow. After I get them and put them on, I will contact everyone personally and give them my contact. I want to make sure the quality is good before I recommend them to all of you. Thanks.

    Me too!

I'd definitely like to check this out as well. I was planning on another set of powerslots (let pads wear too low and destroy powerslots )

My experience from powerslots... MUCH MUCH better braking, little or no fading. I put my stock's back on and within a week, warped. Stopping now is like driving on a rumble strip, hate stock rotors.

Please let me know source as well, they can have my money.
