My kid is freaking out (about to lose first tooth)
She is almost 6 years old and hasn't lost any of her baby teeth yet. Well, one on the bottom is rocking back and forth getting reading to come out. She won't let anyone get near it. She is afraid it's going to hurt when it comes out and that another one won't grow back. Myself, the wife, and grandma have tried to explain it to her but she is still scared about it.

1997 Grand Cherokee- 1999 Firebird.
Get a clean washcloth and tell her you need to check it. Do that a few times and play it up really good. When the tooth is ready, just pop it out and she'll never see it coming.

I watched AFV last night with the fam and they had a video of a kid with his tooth tied to a Nerf gun dart. When he shot if, that tooth went flying across the room.

I know that this is gonna sound really mean, but my dad used to always say that he wouldn't touch it and as soon as we trusted him for a second he pulled it out. Once the fear of the first one is gone things will get easier, and yes I know I'm a mom and aunt. Be fore warned though, when the mollers start coming out the same fear may return, especially if the tooth has to get pulled by the dentist.

When it comes to wisdom teeth. Stay away from smoking and you are going to need to drool ALOT. A friend of mine kept sucking in her spit and ended us getting dry socket. Lets just say that was over 3 months ago and she's still fighting infection. Oh and you may never get feeling back in your lip. That was my husband's fear when he got his out. Mine don't hurt me so I have opt to keep them, I'm not ready for an unnecessary surgery.

That is true but, if they aren't moving your teeth around then there is no point in surgery.

Yeah, just making sure you knew that pain wasn't the only reason to get em out. Lots of my friends had theirs grow in perfect, so there was no need for surgery. I wish I had pictures of my xrays before the surgery, mine were growing completely horizontal towards my molars.

I did know that pain isn't the only reason, however it is usually a sign. My dentist told me that mine were doing that (coming in wrong), but it's kind of hard to believe him when they are already most of the way through my gums. Lets just say I stoped seeing him.

Well, the loose tooth got yanked out tonight. She got a little bit of courage and let us take it out. She was so proud of herself, she was running around telling all the neighborhood kids that she lost a baby tooth.
