Red Jewel Tintcoat- 2010 Camaro SS
Any 06/07 TB SS owners here?
If so, likes, and dislikes about them. I'm just trying to get a heads up on the things to come, as I'm trading in my 04 2500hd Silverado, and picking up my SS on monday. Thanks in advance for any feedback

Yep. From Jersey too!
I'm a mod over on Trailblazerss.com. Some good technical info over at Trailvoy.com as well.
Have to get a tune otherwise mileage is horrible. Still aint great afterwards but I get 15 if I don't beat on it to bad. New though you're going to get atrocious mileage until it gets broke in. I'm talking like 7mpg, no shit..... After about a 1000 miles or so though it'll climb into the double digits finally settling in around 2000 or so at like 13.
Its fun. Lot faster than it feels. Still have a few things I have to get done to it to get it in the 12s where I want mine but the house is coming first right now. Hit us up on the forums and you'll find all the info you need. Great shop for TBSS's down in Seaside as well.96 Imp SS- 12.74@103, 1.74 60' out of fuel
06 AWD TB SS- 12.58@106, 1.76 60'

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not to worried about the fuel mileage, as my 2500 HD that I'm trading in, has a 6.0L with 4:10 gearing, and fuel mileage don't get much worse than that thing.

You'll like the LS2 a little more than the LQ9

Trans just went on me. Thats one major issue with these trucks. The 4L70 just can't hold up. Unless you drive like a old woman all the time, expect tranny issues....

I have an 06 AWD that was purchased in NJ also.
It's a ton of fun. Yea, the gas mileage is crap. But I knew it would be going in. So no biggie there.
I don't have any mods, so I can't really give any advice in that department.
I really can't think of any dislikes at the moment. I have had it a little over a year and have put 23k on the clock. So far, no problems. It's a great ride.
The stock performance was just what I was expecting. It's in the 1/4 mile time territory as my old Typhoon. 14.2's @ 96 MPH. Not bad IMO.
People respond to it ALL the time. I can't count the number of people who say things like, "I didn't know Chevy made a SS TrailBlazer" or , "What the hell is that thing?"
Of course, lately, I hear, "Are you a cop or something?"
Overall, I give it 2 thumbs up. It's been a really fun & very useful SUV.Last edited by DJ Red Barron; 07-28-2007 at 10:15 AM.

I just bought my wife one wednesday. It is a very sweet ride with good performance. From what I can tell it doesn't appear too hard to get it into the 12s. My 22s will be here monday and as soon as I get some mileage on it, I'll be shooting for 12s. According to the dash gauge when I went to drive it today it said my wife was getting 10.6mpg but after I drove it for a few hours it said 11.7. I thought I was the only race car driver in the family, lol.

06 Tbss
Just got my 06 TBSS 3 weeks ago. and I love it.With a wife and two kids, you basically get your Corvette that can hold the family. The only issue I have is the rear liftgate leaking some fluid. I was told the dealer will fix under warranty, but it usually starts leaking again.

Well, we all know it ain't no vette. My point is that you get a very nice, high performance SUV ( with a Vette motor) that you can still fit the wife and kids and all their things into. I would love to have a Vette, but it just isn't practical for a lot of people.

I bought mine just over a week ago, and was going to sell my LS1 SS, but was told by my wife that she likes it too much to give it up, and that I am to keep mine.... I like it, it has a fun factor of 10/10..... lovin it so far, and gettin a decent 15mpg on average....

My brother has an 06 SS, with an STS turbo kit at 7 lbs of boost.
That's definitely fun.
Suggestion #1 though..... TUNE. He gained 30 rwhp with a tune alone (before the turbo of course). A definitely noticeable difference.2002 Trans Am 6sp, SLP lid, Holley filter, Shaner S3 TB, Jet Hot long tubes and cats, FRA, HP tuners, Hotchkis STB and LCAs. TEA stage 1.5 5.3 heads, Comp 220/224 114 +2, UMI Boxed SFCs, Edelbrock PHR. Moser 9" 4.11 gears.

I started another thread....but with bolt-ons my wife's tbss made 362/361. I think if it were cooler and I didn't have the 22s, it would have hit 370rwhp.
99 35th GT: 5.0 stroker, twin 60 turbos, aeromotive return style fuel system, full suspension.
575/563 @ 12lbs-adding more soon...
07 Trailblazer SS(wife's): 22s, 3200 stall, cammed and bolt ons, lowered. 405/405
