those engines are notorious for leaking intake manifold gaskets...and they kinda suck to do. got to take the rockers and pushrods out etc...I've done a couple. not really fun. goodluck

how savy are you with top-end engine components? It's basically all a puzzle, just in reverse. If it comes of, it has to go back on.

i did some quick googling...it seems the 3.4/3.1 L share a lot of commonalities. perhaps you can google some 3.4 rebuilds?

Pull the upper and lower, you shouldn't have to pull pushrods for a manny gasket. go check out www.60degreeV6.com

I've owned my share of 2.8 and 3.1 chevys. Its been a LONG time but I don't recall removing pushrods for a intake, thats just crazy. Infact I never took the pushrods out for anything other than lifter change.

How is it different when they are all 60 degree V6 motors? example, you can bolt 3500/3900 heads and intake on a old school 3400. and you can swap 2.8 and 3.1 parts all on the 3.4 also. I have had alot of Fieros

    Step 1: Remove v-6 trash.

    Step 2: Install LS-1.

    Step 3: Enjoy life.

here, maybe this will help you understand, notice the position of the pushrods, and where the intake gasket is. The push rods are behind and go through the gasket. The pushrods have to come out to replace the gasket.
