I heard this in person. His words were " Be at the January 05 Detroit Auto Show and there will be something there you will like"

A lot of us heard those words and they are the only thing you can count on being TRUE. GM has a very strict non disclosure clause written into every contract with their execs (i.e. people in the loop) and anyone talking about future products from GM is full og sh!t, period. Wait till January and see what GM is really coming out with.

I'm raising the BS flag on this one. That's straight out of the '82 advertising shit. The "Iron Duke" isn't even around anymore...hasn't been for a long time. Personally I think somebody is full of shit.

as for that SS if they even THINK about calling it a camaro or chevelle ill cry.
it should be an upgraded option for the RX8 :brick:

The GN is comin back on the same platform as the GTO but will get a good old TURBO v6

I just got an invitation to Detroit International Auto Show from Scott Settlemeyer. A press pass no less. So Jan 6, I will see what's really up with the new GM cars.

I say screw GM and Chevy and make your own :D!! Take a wrecked car and learn how to make fiberglas pieces and learn to chop! I see people do it all the time to old 50's amd 70's cars to make them look new. Now somebody should do that to a 2000 camaro and make it for the 2007+!! I would love to see that!! No matter how weird! As long as somebody is doing it against GM, and making it "tangible" and you can touch it. Id be happy!!

but seriously when they do these retro muscle cars, hopefully they'll do all Generations. I'd love to have a second gen Camaro '71 is my favorite year for the old ones. A new version of the 71 would be awesome, I think it's the baddest looking out of all the old Camaros since it has the split chrome bumper

rumour I have heard there will be a new rear wheel drive platform but my source does not know what. And it will not be until 2008 or 2009. Like a million other people he works for GM

if they bring it back it needs to be limited production each year,offer every v8 available ,bring back true option packages such as it was in the beginingrs , ss z28,zl1,RS ,copo ,etc... not just a badge and a hood and different exhaust.DO IT RIGHT OR NOT AT ALL.

But I just got these pics emailed to me and was told that it might be a good rendition of the concept car for the Detroit Auto Show. Dont know how true it is. Hawk1 posted the one pic already. Who really knows. If you look closely to the lower lip spoiler and driving lights, they show two different versions from one side to the other.

I think that a ZL1 LS7 model has to be available for 45k to dominate the new cobras. Obviously the LS2 Z28s would romp the current GTs, but I want GM to take a stab at the Shelby Cobras. This is unlikely though as they would be too scared that such a camaro would interfere with their corvette plans.............uggh


i agree, i would use the LS2 as the standard powerplant with the LS7 as an upgraded package, now the only problem is when they do come out with a camaro, how the hell am i gonna finance it, lol

LS2 engines with 400+ hp
Styling from the retro 1969 model,, which is the one i'd pick to copy
Built with greater structural integrity & handling with all the modern conveniences..
Hopefully they'll be on sale in Spring 2007, hope i can wait..
Been thinking of dropping an LS2 400hp into my 2002 Z28 convertible & beef up tranny , rear-end & suspension pieces... just to get me by..
