Hey guys today I was picking up a load of san out towards poteet at around 5am. we were headig south on highway 16 when we came accross a white Acura GSR he was dragging ass so we (3 trucks) passed him. I was the last one in line, so he wanted to make it hard for me, but I was already in the final gear and It was easy to pass. well miles later we get caught up at a light and he jumped to the left I was in 10th gear doing 50 and climbing. so he gets next to me as we approach a hill. so he starts toying with me and eventually takes off and at this time Im in 13th gear and hauling ass again so it takes him a while untill he reaches WOT. He then passes me and jumps into my lane. but just as I thought it was over he slams his brakes and I let go of the throttle and engine brake slows me down. he then does the flasher vicotry. :brick: BAD MOVE! a few miles down the road he signals for a right turn. he then starts to drive on the shoulder in the mean time I am thinking retribuition. but what???? :seesaw: so as he slows to make his turn I pas right by him and pull down on the air horns! but these arent ordinary horns, I have train horns on my truck! so as I see him thru my passenger low window, he slammed his brakes and skid a little, I got a good laugh out of it, but it went away quick because that was kind of fuked up, but cant say he didnt deserve it. If i were loaded I could of hit him when he slammed on his brakes. I bet he didnt see that comming.

used too, but it only had like 8 i believe. haha, i meant it was dangerous what he was doing, passing you and slamming on breaks. i'm always really cautious behind trucks, make sure i stay far enough behind them to see me in their mirror, and i pass them quickly so i don't get caught in their blind spot for too long.

18 speeds are rare and are more common on OTR trucks. I am always local and haul 79500-80000 lbs every load. a 13 speed is perfect for that job. because You can go through the low range quickly and the upper is cake, especially when we go uphill, i just waive at the 10 and 9 speeders lol. and since my truck is detuned I have lots and lots of free torque. a 15 and 18 speed truck will do you no good especially an 18 speed. pulling all that weight will almost force you to upgrade every gear.

Huzzah !! That's funny shit right there, I don't care who you are !!
I would LOVE to get a set of horns like that.. I was watching the YouTube vids of the guys with the Lighthouse Foghorns in their truck running about scaring people.
Makes laugh every time, good stuff... <Just glad it's not me getting the bejesus scared outta me >

compressed air, it doesnt sound as strong like it would on a train because most train are either steam or air pressurized.
I have my stock horns on top, but this set is in between my right passenger steps/compartment and my right fender. I Installed them for that purpose only to freak out the people that do something stupid.

no I was empty, running on engine brake. if I would of hit him, He'd find a way to blame it on me. thats why I always let it go. if typical motorist found out how much our insurance is worth, they'd be trying to get a piece every day.
I'll tell you what, the company that we haul load for is so stupid. they gave an old ass lady 1,500 dollars. for a hit and run. Apparently that bitch took my dad's truck number and license plate, and got a witness (her neighboor) made the demand, and the guy who handled the claim felt intimidated because she was a cops mom, so he ended up paying her instead. my dad got pissed, but it wasnt his money. so later he didnt give a dam.

ah i see right on. different parts of the world. around here most people are running 18's with 4-way lockers for pulling logs out of the bush and what not. you'll see 13's pulling vans. very little 15's though. they're an awkward transmission.

Respect to big trucks. I own one, and use to drive them. Have you ever hand braked a tailgater, now that is priceless.

never man. My loads usually are always inbalanced, and my bed is 8ft high. So it gives me a high center of gravity. even a little slip up would result in a over turn or jacknife. and I go through brake shoes like prune juice on an old man.

Kinda off topic, but a 18 wheeler blew a tire out when I was right beside him last week when I was leaving the 5g camaro media unveiling in Texas (yes I am lucky) .
The loudest most epic tire blow out I have ever heard. I literally thought my car had blown up. Scared the shit out of me.

I hear you buddy, I had many tire blow outs due to the weight and even a 10psi loss would result in a blow out. Watch out for Re-caps they can kill you. as for myself I never use those garbages.

That brings back memories.
Holes in the pipe, or straight pipes coming down the mountain at about 2G on the tach and jake brake is fun too.
