So! After having had a brake job done, I get my 2000 T/A back and now the rear end's whining! I have 100K on the car, stock rear, and the rear made absolutely no noise BEFORE the brake job! What could have happened? I can't prove that the brake job work caused the whining noise but it definitely WASN'T there before! What actually causes the rear to whine, and is it worth fixing? I baby my car and never run it hard (well, almost never..) but I do drive it at illegal speeds on the Garden State Parkway. For the type of driving that I do, is fixing whatever's causing the whine cost-effective?

check your fluid level and and are you running a stock rear or an aftermarket?

Stock rear. I didn't have time to get the fluid level checked, but I'll do it this weekend.

sounds like the mechanic had a fun test drive. start saving for a 9" or a 12bolt!

I threaten any mechanic that works on my car before he starts. Luckily I can do most of the work on it myself.
