Trans brake?

Hey guys and gals... I am in the planning stages of my "build" on my 2000 a4 z28 maro and i been wondering what is a trans brake and what dose it do/how dose it help you. How dose it compare to a stall? or do you run both a stall and a trans brake? How streetable is a trans brake? More info I am planning on building up a LQ9 block boreing it out to a 402 and building it with the intent of down the road of putting a power adder on be it a super charger or a nitrous kit. thanks.

I know a trans brake holds 1st gear against reverse and when you let the button go it launches the car like a bat outta hell. I believe a brake is completely streetable because it's only engaged when you press the button.

Yea I think it allows you to put the car in neutal and rev it as high as you want then drop it into 1st (neutral drop)
So in other words just helps allow you to launch anytime you want and making it very streetable

Nothing like a neutral drop... which I have done on accident a number of times.. lol

you will still need a converter, the trans-brake lets you bring the rpm's up to your stall so you can leave hard in your power band.

With a trans-brake and a good converter a stock ls1 will launch like a mofo!!!
