On Aug. 16, we had our yearly fun days. It consists of a Fri. night burnout contest, Sat. airplane rides, bowling ball bombing(drop a 16 lb bowling ball on a car from 200 hundred feet), car show, and drag races. All done at a small local airport. raced the TA 4 times, won all 4.
1st race- asked a procharged 97 Cobra, he stalled it on the line, a win is a win.
2nd race-Let my son drive on this one. 98 Z28 m6 with a cam. It was his first race, and her second race. She left late and spun bad. 8.2@87 to 10.1@80.
3rd race-Set up to run a 72 Nova, but the K5 Blazer in front of me wouldn't start, so they pulled my Nova in to race in its place. That left me lined up with an STI, even better. It had some work down to it, still not enough. 8.2@86 to 9.1@77.
4th race- Best one, 67 GTO, with a litely worked over 455 and slicks. Also got him fairly easily. 8.2@86 to 8.7@73.
Not really street racing, but a lot of these cars come straight from the car show to the 1/8 mile we have setup on a taxi-way. You have to line up your own races, so you walk up and down the line of cars asking people if they want to race. Great way to spend a Sat afternoon.
Videos are here, except for the Cobra( wasn't worth it).
