I have a black 5-speed knob in my '56. Looks great. I welded a Hurst shift lever onto the Tremec top stick lever.

Maybe you can find a picture on the Hurst web site. Anyway, their site is part of Mr. Gasket in case you can't find it.

I have a friend with a black interior camaro and a white shifter. It looks pretty good, you should do it.
