front fender pushed out-ward

My front fender sticks out on the bottom as well as my Y3K kit...there is a gap between the kit and the bottom of the door enough to stick fingers in. Someone told me its cuz some mechanic jacked the car up from the fenders and not the frame, another said that my chasis is twisted and there's nothing I can do...

is there any way to fix this? what caused this?

Also, if it is the frame, if I get sub-frame connectors, would they be able to mallet everything back in place...oh yea and isn't frame damage covered under warranty????

the first person was right.they lifted your car by the fender tab which then bent it making your fender have the gap.if you look under you will see the bent part.you can bend it back yourself very easy and the gap will close up

Someone jacked on the fenders.
Warranty does not cover someones' ignorance, only defective parts.

Get a 2-3 foot long 2x4 and a big hammer. Place one end of the 2x4 against the fender flange and whack the other end with the hammer.

Some have used vice grips etc., but I prefer the above method since it doesn't hurt the paint down there.

i'm sure he meant the sub frame, if he thought it was a full frame, he wouldn't be thinking about getting sub frame connectors.

Did the same thing to my car first time I put it on a lift - removed the two screws on that side, bent the tab back - replaced screws.

cool...i tried with just a hammer but no good. The screws are bent so badly I can't pull them out...the next nearest warm day im gonna get under there and wreak havoc until its fixed...thx

Thanks rbob 93 I used a 2x4 and a sledge hammer and there is a
vast improvement. I am another guy with the problem:notworthy:

Just be careful not to break that tab off it is only a thin piece of meta. Best way to fix it is to remove the bolts and use vise scripes and bend it back straight. That is what I did with mine.

Nothing better than a big Rubber mallet and alot of elbow grease :yup:

Ditto! Vice grips and a good push fixed my problem... I didn't even bother removing the bolts.

i used a rubber mallot and didnt get it to move an inch...then i used a 2x4 and tried to hammer it in that way...didnt budge. I can't pull out the bolts cuz they are bent up badly, so i cant feed it out of the hole. I'm thinking about doing it again when my car is on jackstands, but i dont know how save that is, given ill be hitting it side-to-side.
