I do that alot. then I let the enigne come back to idle before I put it back in D.
it slips in smoothly, and doesnt clunk or nothin, so it cant hurt it that bad.

Leave it to the computer to shift, it's there for a reason. Manually shifting an A4 will add damage that isn't worth it. Also it is slower if you manually shift it, than let the computer do it. If you want to shift, buy a manual!

lol throwing it into 3 on the gear selector only eliminates O/D..the computer still shifts..so no putting it in 3 will not harm anything.

let the a4 shift itself, its better for the transmission and it can do it faster than you can...like they said if your not happy witht he points or the shifting itself do what spaz said

Depends on the kit, but usually between $60-200 for a decent one. Personally I think they are a waste of time and money. You would be better off getting a stall/gears and tires and you will be 10x better off.

 the shift kit is a compliment with the stall. what does gears and tires have to do with firmness of shifts and the improved longevity of the trans internals

Didn't go into depth that much. What I meant was that if your going to own a A4, then those are some of the best upgrades to go with.
